Day 4 of 365 days photo challenge and baby blessing

It was Yoon Yoon's baby blessing yesterday. She looked very pretty with that dress on. I will post more pictures later as some of the pictures are in Jason's camera.

Yoon Yoon was eight weeks old yesterday and we blessed her at church yesterday. She was being very good. Every one kept saying how cute she was. She is a miracle to us. She is healthy and strong which is a great blessing to me, because I don't think I would be able to handle seeing her in pain or has to go through and deal with health problems.

Yoon Yoon, you are greatly loved! Daddy, Mommy, Po Po, Gong Gong, Grandma, Aunties, Uncles, cousins all love you so very much!

Day 3 of 365 days photo challenge

Daddy and baby
The people I love the most of the whole wide world! Jason tells me everyday how much he loves the baby! Who would imagine how much love you can have for a baby you only know for a few weeks? I felt in love with my little sweetheart the first time I saw her. I wasn't quite there but when I looked at my baby for the first time, I just couldn't give her up. She is mine!

It was okay but Jason said he didn't really like it so we are not going back there.

I didn't really take any pictures but here are the miso soup that came with the rice bowl:

And here is a picture of our baby while we were at the restaurant. She was being really good!

I am also going to see what I can get done on my 101 things in 1001 days during summer because I am not going to take any classes in the summer. I am kind of excited that I can spend more time with my baby but in the same sense, I hope I won't be bored to death.

After the birth

I had to stay in the hospital for 5 days because I had an emergency C-section. I wasn't happy about it because I just wanted to go home.

After the birth, I couldn't get up for a couple days. I was hurting and very tired. My blood pressure was still high so they keep monitoring my blood pressure. They also kept drawing my blood to see if I need to have blood transfusion. I ended up getting two transfusion. My right arm are all bruised because they literary poked me ten thousand times to draw my blood. My arm was all swollen so they had to poke at least a couple times to get it work whenever they drew my blood. It hurt, but compare to labor it was nothing.

I avoid taking pain medication as much as I can and I really didn't feel any pain after the third day. I mean I was just sore but it wasn't pain.

The nurses came help me get up on the third day. I was so weak I could only stand there.

On the forth day, I was able to get up and walk around with help. I tried to walk as much as I can because I just wanted to be able to get my strength back so that I could take care my baby and go home.

After that, I was able to get up and go to the bathroom with very little help.

They had been telling me that I could go home on Thursday, however, on Thursday morning, they told me that my blood pressure was still high and they wanted me to stay one more day. I was very upset because I didn't want to stay another minute.

After a while, the midwife came in and talked to me and said that she would go ahead and discharge me.  So I got to go home that day with the baby.

During the whole hospital stay, I breast fed the baby. It was really hard at first because I simply had no strength to even hold the baby. The nurses came in and helped me. I didn't have any milk until I got home from the hospital so it made it even harder.

Anyway, it was the first time I had to stay in a hospital. I had never stayed in a hospital before, and it was kind of a strange experience for me.

Our little family

Yoon Yoon is two and a half weeks old. She is very cute for the most part. One thing she hates the most is diaper change. She cries every time we try to change her. She doesn't even cry as loud when she is hungry.

Since the second week, she always want me to hold her in the middle of the night at about 4 a.m. I have to hold her till morning and try to feed her and put her down. If not, she wouldn't sleep and make wired noise that would keep me up anyway.

As for me, I am struggling to finish my hw. I am just so tired and just so not in the mood. However, I have to do it. I just want this semester to be over. I am going to take a break in summer.

As for Daddy, he is still kind of stress from the whole labor and delivery event. It was not fun for him to go through something like that again. Lucky that baby and I are perfectly fine.

Anyway, I love my husband and baby.

Julianna's Birth Story

Well, I have finally gotten over the fact that I had an C-section. The whole labor and delivery was nothing like what I had imagined for 9 months. However, baby and I are doing great and I can't ask for more. Here is her birth story:

She was born on March 11, 2012. It was a Sunday. One week before her official due date.

Saturday morning, March 10, 2012, Mommy got up a bit early and wanted to make breakfast for Daddy. Then she had breakfast at village inn with a couple of friends. After that she went to the testing center to take her marketing exam because it was going to be spring break and she was afraid that she wouldn't be able to take the exam after spring break as it was cutting close to due date.

She spent a few hours at the testing center trying to study for the exam. After she took the exam, she went to Walmart. She had to walk a little bit to the bus stop and her legs were hurting, she thought it was because she was tired. She finally got to Walmart and tried to get something ready for herself to go to the hospital. She also picked up the dresser for the baby she ordered online. After she was done shopping for herself, she got really tired and hungry, it was about 5 or 6 pm. So she went and sit down at Mcdonalds to eat. After she ate, she realized that she forgot to get some birthday gifts. So she went and got those. Right when she was done and walking out to sit down and wait for Daddy, her water broke and at the same time, Daddy texted Mommy and told her that he was coming to pick her up.

Mommy didn't want Daddy to be too nervous so she didn't tell Daddy her water had broken. She just sat and wait. Finally, Mommy saw Daddy's jeep pull in so she walked to the jeep and her water was leaking again. Daddy was on the phone with someone so Mommy waited for a bit to tell Daddy that her water might have broken.

Mommy and Daddy didn't know what to think at that point because they weren't sure if they were going to have the baby that night. They tried to call the midwife but got no response, so they headed to the hospital. When they got to the hospital, they didn't know which way to go. It was kind of frustrating because it WAS an emergency. They finally found the right place and checked in.

The nurse came in and checked Mommy and see if her water really broke and it was. However, Mommy hadn't start contractions or dilated one bit, however,  Mommy's blood pressure was really high.

After a while, the midwife came and said that Mommy might not be stable enough to be induced. Baby needed to be born within 24 hours after the water broke. Blood work finally came back and they said that Mommy was ok to be induced.

They told Mommy it might take the whole day and night because she hadn't dilated one bit. It was rather an uncomfortable night for Mommy. At first, the contractions weren't bad. However, once the morning came, contractions got really bad, they were almost non-stop. Only 1 second apart at best. Mommy was going to give in to epidural because of the intense pain. She finally decided not to. The doctor and the midwife said that her blood pressure was 10 times higher overnight and if she didn't have the baby right away, it could be fatal because her liver was going to shut down. It was a very serious case of acute pre eclampsia.

They checked Mommy and she was only 1 cm dilated. They decided that she needed to have an emergency C-section to get the baby out. Daddy and the family thought that she should have a priesthood blessing before the surgery. So they waited for Chandra and Austin (Daddy's sister and brother in law) to come to do the blessing. Daddy wasn't able to say the blessing because he was too worried. Daddy and Austin lay hands on Mommy's head to give her a blessing.

After that, Mommy was rushed into the surgery room. Mommy had the urge to push, but the doctor told her to try not to push. The midwife checked Mommy again and found that she was already 8 cm dilated. They thought maybe Mommy didn't need an C-section. They wanted to wait for 5 mins and see if Mommy would fully dilated. She didn't, so they put Mommy out. Daddy wasn't allow to be in the room. He was worried sick .

When Mommy woke up from the surgery, she saw everyone standing around her and told her that she had the baby. They put the baby on Mommy chest and she thought that baby has her nose.

Daddy later told Mommy that he wasn't the first to see the baby because he was so worried that he couldn't get up from the floor. When Daddy was finally able to get up, they asked if he wanted them to get the baby for him. Daddy said no, he said he wanted to go get his baby.

Mommy and baby are doing good. Baby is very healthy and just perfect.

Our baby was born

Our Baby, Yoon-Ching Julianna, was born on March 11, 2012. She is now two weeks old. It has been a pleasure to have her with us. She is a very good baby. She doesn't cry unless she is hungry or we try to change her.

Believe it or not, she is able to lift up her own head. I can't believe how strong she is. When she was still in my tummy, Jason thought that she was uncommonly strong. I guess it is true. She can also almost roll herself over which is really scary.

Only two weeks ago, I didn't know how being a mother was like. The first day she was here, my mother instinct kicked in immediately. It felt like she had always been here. Now, I couldn't imagine how life would be like without her.

It hasn't been too bad taking care of her. Sometime it is tiring trying to breast feed because she likes to fall asleep after a couple sucks. I have to keep feeding her for 2 hours sometime. However, I don't mind taking care of her. I just love her very very much.

The whole experience is still so unreal to me. I am a Mom, finally, after being pregnant for 39 weeks.

Baby Shower

My sister in law throw me a baby shower on Saturday. I didn't want to have one because I knew none of my friends could come. Most of my better friends are either in Hong Kong or some other states.

However, I am glad that I had one because we received a lot of gifts. My mother in law invited a lot of church members and they came. Even though I didn't really know them, they are so generous to come and give us gifts.

Here are some pictures, I look like I weight 300 lbs. Hopefully, I will lose those lbs pretty quickly. Also, I might not look too happy because I only had 3 hours sleep the night before. I was so dang tired, I could hardly keep my eyes open.

Days 21 and 22 of 365 day photo challenge

Day 21

Jason was working on his tank. Then he said he wanted to throw the picture away because he lost interest on drawing it. I told him that he didn't need to throw it away, just leave it. May be he will want to draw it again later.

Day 22

Jason was looking at his old band's folder and found a lot of songs he had written a long time ago. He said he didn't want to show me because it was embarrassing. I told him that there is nothing to be embarrassed about, so he showed me. One of the song is named Fire Lake. I read the lyrics and asked him if he had the melody for it. He said no. However, after flipping through the pages, he found the tune. So I was excited and said "PLAY IT". So I handed him his guitar and he started playing it. After he finished, he thought the song didn't make much sense but I thought it was pretty good.

Relaxing Friday

We had a relaxing day yesterday. We got up after noon. I asked Jason if he wanted to do some homework or just want to relax. We chose just to relax because we were so tired from school work. We needed to rest. We went to get the car washed and had lunch at Golden Carol.

While we were having lunch, there was an older couple sitting just behind us. I think they were in their 70s. The husband seemed like he had trouble walking and his hands were shaking. His wife was perfectly fine. She got up and got food for her husband. Before they started eating, they prayed. Then the wife gave the husband a kiss. It was such a touching picture. I was going to cry.

That is what I picture the future will be like. Jason and I would be a very old couple. We still go places together and take care of each other. We would still express our love by kissing each other. It would be the perfect future.

I love you my sweet husbee, I am not ashamed to say that my biggest wish is to grow old with you.

We originally planned to go to Old Navy after lunch, but we were kind of tired and just wanted to go home and relax. I felt asleep and Jason was working on something. At about 6, we went to Jason's band's practice. We were able to record Jason playing drums.

Click the link below to watch the video, the sound isn't great because we just used a regular camcorder:

Working on band's logo

Jason is working on redesigning his band's logo. He likes the dragon idea. He drew this dragon on the computer. Then he wanted a more hand drawn feel, so he traced it with a tracing paper and scan it in to the computer.

Days 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 of 365 day photo challenge

Day 16

We were at Chandra's and just finished watching the movie Freaky Friday. I am not sure why we decided to take this picture. haha!

Day 18

Jason was practicing drums on his band's practice night. He is getting getter and better.

Sweetheart, how are you?

My dear Yoon Yoon,

How are you doing? I know we haven't really officially met yet, but you have been in my tummy for almost 36 weeks. Daddy and Mommy really want to see you and hold you. Can you tell me when are you going to come out?

It's been very stressful for both Daddy and Mommy these couple weeks, because it's getting so close. You are consider full term in just 11 days. We don't know for sure what it will be like having you with us.

I only have one favor to ask, please be healthy. Daddy and Mommy love you very much. Help Mommy take good care of your Daddy when you are here, Okay?

Sweetheart, we will see you soon!

Love,
Mama

34 days left

I feel like I haven't slept for a week. Last night, I finally felt asleep at 3 a.m. I thought I would finally get a good night sleep. But no, I had to woke at 8 a.m. I know, 8 is not very early but considering what time I was able to fall asleep, it is really early!

I tried to fall back asleep after I woke up, it took me about hour and a half to fall back asleep. I got up at about noon. We went out for lunch because I was so tired that I really had no energy. After that Jason dropped me off at school.

We went through the sample exam in class today because we are having a Math exam tomorrow. I am not sure if I am ready for it but I don't really have the energy to review. Also, I have other classes I need to work on.

I have finished chapter 4 and 5 of the Natural Childbirth book. It's a really good read. I really enjoy reading it.

Only 34 days left till baby is due but only 13 days till baby is full term............scary!

Day 13, 14, 15 of 365 day photo challenge

Day 13

Yes, it's him again, my silly husbee. It shows you how exciting my life is right now. We don't really get to do anything except our homework. Or we are just too tired to do anything. I believe he was playing call of duty in this picture as a break from studying.

Day 14

Don't ask me what his hands were doing. I wouldn't tell! He was writing his speech for the public speaking class and I thought he was laughing, so I laughed uncontrollably for no good reason. He was kind of annoyed and it made me laugh even harder. HaHaHa.

Day 15

I finally got the book "Natural Birth the Bradley way" on Friday and I have read the first three chapters already. It's an really old book but I found the information interesting and helpful. I could skip some chapters because I only have five weeks left. However, it's not a big book. I think I can finish it pretty quickly and be able to practice what it teaches us.

Day 12 of 365 day photo challenge and baby sign language

Well, nothing really happen today. I went to school and came home. We are having another Math exam next Tuesday which is Valentine Day.

It will be our last Valentine Day for just the two of us. Next year, we will have a little one year old with us!!!

I just finished my birth plan today, I hope it will be followed as much as it can.

Jason was saying the other day that we should teach our baby sign language, so I went online and research a little bit. It is a pretty new concept, however, it looks like it has a lot of benefit for the kid and the parents.

Parents could bond better with their child using sign language because they can understand each other as young as the child is six months old. It could help the parents to understand what the baby really want. As the child is understood, the baby would have less frustration.

For the child, it helps them develop their speech skill earlier than other kids. Also, they tend to have higher IQ.

However, to be able to take advantage of the benefit of sign language, parents need to be very consistent. I would like to try but I am not sure if I will be consistent enough.

Day 11 of 365 day photo challenge

He is probably going to kill me, haha! He was peeling an orange while watching TV. Sooooooooo Cute!
