After the birth

I had to stay in the hospital for 5 days because I had an emergency C-section. I wasn't happy about it because I just wanted to go home.

After the birth, I couldn't get up for a couple days. I was hurting and very tired. My blood pressure was still high so they keep monitoring my blood pressure. They also kept drawing my blood to see if I need to have blood transfusion. I ended up getting two transfusion. My right arm are all bruised because they literary poked me ten thousand times to draw my blood. My arm was all swollen so they had to poke at least a couple times to get it work whenever they drew my blood. It hurt, but compare to labor it was nothing.

I avoid taking pain medication as much as I can and I really didn't feel any pain after the third day. I mean I was just sore but it wasn't pain.

The nurses came help me get up on the third day. I was so weak I could only stand there.

On the forth day, I was able to get up and walk around with help. I tried to walk as much as I can because I just wanted to be able to get my strength back so that I could take care my baby and go home.

After that, I was able to get up and go to the bathroom with very little help.

They had been telling me that I could go home on Thursday, however, on Thursday morning, they told me that my blood pressure was still high and they wanted me to stay one more day. I was very upset because I didn't want to stay another minute.

After a while, the midwife came in and talked to me and said that she would go ahead and discharge me.  So I got to go home that day with the baby.

During the whole hospital stay, I breast fed the baby. It was really hard at first because I simply had no strength to even hold the baby. The nurses came in and helped me. I didn't have any milk until I got home from the hospital so it made it even harder.

Anyway, it was the first time I had to stay in a hospital. I had never stayed in a hospital before, and it was kind of a strange experience for me.
